Dr. Heimo Prokop (52), Senior Vice President of Corporate Communications of Continental AG since March 2001, will leave the company at the end of 2009.
Dr. Prokop was responsible for the Continental Corporation’s global communications for nearly nine years and had a formative influence on communication in decisive phases of the corporation’s development. During this time, key parts of the company such as Temic, the automotive operations of Motorola, Phoenix and Siemens VDO were acquired and integrated into the corporation. The company’s return to the DAX in October 2003 also occurred under Prokop’s communicative guidance.

“In keeping with the developments since Schaeffler became a major shareholder, Corporate Communications should also be given the opportunity for a new start,” commented Dr. Prokop. “In this way, future projects can now be tackled in an unprejudiced manner and with¬out preconceived notions. I wish Continental every success and all the best for the future.”

The Executive Board thanks Dr. Prokop for his successful work in these nine eventful years and wishes him all the best for his future professional career.

Until a successor has been appointed, the current press spokesman and Vice President of Media Relations, Hannes Boekhoff, will assume the position of Head of Corporate Communi¬cations on a temporary basis.
