Logistics Plus has acquired Horizon Logistics, the 3PL subsidiary division of Horizon Lines, Eyefortransport reports. Under terms of the agreement, Horizon Lines has transferred the majority of its Horizon Logistics staff based in Irving (Texas) as well as its operations in Lexington (North Carolina) and San Francisco (California) to Logistics Plus.
 

    This follows Horizon Lines' announcement in February that it had decided to divest its Logistics business.
 

    The acquisition expands Logistics Plus' portfolio of services, including international ocean transportation, airfreight forwarding, intermodal transportation management, distribution, warehousing and fulfilment, trucking and expedited delivery.Horizon Logistics network includes warehouses, terminals and offices in Lexington and Dallas.
