RWI Transportation, an asset-based logistics company providing regional and national truckload, LTL, expedited, and refrigerated warehousing services, announced the hiring of Kevin Kauppi as Midwest Regional Sales Manager.

    Based in Chicago, Kauppi focuses on new opportunities throughout Illinois, Indiana, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Iowa, and Missouri for temperature-controlled truckload and tonnage growth. Through his efforts, RWI's growth trend in the Midwest and in its west coast, Texas, Southern Louisiana/Mississippi and New Jersey lanes will continue.

    "Kauppi brings a wealth of experience that will only enhance RWI's growth, especially in the temperature-controlled truckload area, where RWI excels in delivering perishable commodities safely,” says Richard Bauer, executive vice president and general manager of RWI Transportation. "Kauppi's relationships and knowledge of transportation networks of both major manufacturers and small to mid-size shippers position him well to quickly add to RWI's customer base.”

    Kauppi has over 26 years sales and management experience in temperature-controlled and dry transportation. He is known for building solid relationships within the industry. Prior to RWI, Kauppi had positions with FFE Frozen Food Express, Sterling Transportation, SRT, Southern Refrigerated Transport, and Central Transport, Inc.
