NORTHWEST China's Xinjiang region posted a 4.8 per cent growth in rail cargo transport volume to 5.37 million tonnes in January, reports Xinhua.
The outbound cargo volume increased 7.2 per cent to 253,000 tonnes, including "important supplies", which increased 46.9 per cent, with cotton rising 28.6 per cent and coal going down 28.8 per cent. The checkpoint recorded a daily vehicle inbound traffic of 2,329 units, growing 5.2 per cent or 116 year on year.
