'MARINE WEEK 2011' opens today at BEXCO, Busan, South Korea until 29 October for four days.
High-end technology and new products for Shipbuilding & Offshore industry are displayed.
MARINE WEEK has been held every second year from 2001, integrating three exhibitions, KORMARINE, NAVAL & DEFENCE and SEA-PORT.
The 6th MARINE WEEK is the largest-ever with participation of 1,280 companies from 45 countries and 12-country pavilion from Germany, England, Norway, Finland, Sweden, etc.
Also, it is the most internationalized exhibition in South Korea, with about half of overseas companies being participated.
MARINE WEEK is not only selected as Global Top 5 exhibition from Ministry of Knowledge Economy this year but also as Global Top 4 shipbuilding & offshore exhibition, along with SMM of Germany, POSIDONIA of Greece, NOR-SHIPPING of Norway.
During MARINE WEEK, business talks for investment and export, by inviting powerful buyers from China, Brazil, and others as well as various seminars are to be held.
The business-centered special exhibition is opened to general public on 29th, with admission fee of KRW 5,000.
Officials from Busan said, "Busan will take MARINE WEEK as an opportunity to raise awareness of Busan as a hub of shipbuilding and offshore industry. Also, over $780m of counselling and contract deal and over KRW 130bn of benefits from tourism, accommodations, etc. are expected."
