LUXEMBOURG's Logwin, rated highly in European fashion logistics, has put out a new product called "red carpet logistics" in Kuala Lumpur as the first step in an Asia-wide roll out.
The service will combine the transport of high-end fashion and lifestyle labels to, from and within Asia, with dedicated warehouse facilities. The first dedicated logistics facility in Asia was opened in Shah Alam in Malaysia for high-end fashion customers. In the next phase of the roll out Hong Kong, Singapore and Shanghai will come "on line".
Logistics director of business segment air + ocean, Marc Wijnen, said the red carpet logistics (RCL) concept was aimed at capturing growing demand for premium European brands in Asia and involved a significant investment. "This product will primarily focus on these kinds of labels going into Asia, and on the Asian premium brands going to Europe, Australia and the US," Mr Wijnen said.
The company is forecasting a dramatic increase in demand for warehousing and transport services within emerging markets in Asia, particularly, for premium European and US fashion and lifestyle products. Also there are more Asian premium brands expanding their sales outside of Asia in Europe, North America and the Middle East.
