THE northwestern Xinjiang Grain Modern Logistics Project invested by the central government has commenced construction, according to Xinjiang Autonomous Region Development and Reform Commission, reports Xinhua.

The grain logistics project plans to build an 85,000-tonne capacity grain horizontal warehouse and other auxiliary facilities, with a floor area of 29,407 square metres and a total investment of CNY31.98 million (US$5.24 million).

The investment has reached CNY23.74 million as of the end of October, accounting for 74 per cent of the annual total investment.
