DB Schenker in joint venture with Oman firm
Date:2011-12-13 Readers:

DB Schenker Logistics will establish a joint venture with long-time partner Khimji Ramdas Group in the Sultanate of Oman.

In early 2012, the new company Schenker Khimji is scheduled to provide comprehensive solutions in the fields of air and ocean freight, land transport, contract logistics and supply chain management.

“This new joint venture will contribute to seamless integrated services,” said Thomas Lieb, chairman of the management board of Schenker and head of the DB Schenker Logistics Business Unit within Deutsche Bahn’s Transportation and Logistics Division.

“By strengthening our presence in this growth region, we make sure that customers from all over the world will get the same high-quality service throughout the supply chain. And our customers from the region will benefit from our global presence in more than 130 countries in the world,” Lieb added.

Schenker Khimji will offer its customers a single point of contact within Oman for the logistics requirements and will help connect with their suppliers and customers around the globe.

Martin Hackl, the DB Schenker Logistics delegate in Oman, will take over the responsibility as managing director of the new company.
