May.2--ZEPOL Corporation, a major trade intelligence company, annual report shows that Los Angeles is the top US port by a landslide, surpassing all other facilities by more than a million TEU.
The report also shows that based on TEU volume, 11 of the top 20 ports showed positive growth from 2011 to 2012 with the Port of Tacoma registering the greatest growth in 2012, with a TEU increase of 29 per cent from 2011.
Furthermore, the top 20 ports accounted for 97 per cent of all TEU imports into the United States.
