SISI Forum on International Port & Shipping Development 2013 (hereinafter referred to as “the Forum”) was held at Ocean Hotel on November 28th, 2013. The Forum was co-hosted by organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), Transport Planning and Research Institute (affiliated to Ministry of Transport), China Academy of Transportation Sciences and Shanghai-Hong Kong International Maritime R&D and Communication Center.

The forum highlighted three perspectives: theory and practice of international shipping center construction, reflections on proven experience and policy of international shipping center construction and expert observations. With participants’ insight and foresight, the forum has contributed to the development initiatives for China’s shipping center construction and the country’s rise as a critical maritime power.
