Fujian ports box volume up 10.7pc to 8.52 million TEU in 9 months

FUJIAN provincial ports across from Taiwan posted a 10.7 per cent year-on-year increase in container throughput to 8.52 million TEU in the first three quarters, reports Xinhua.

 

The Port of Fuzhou's throughput in the period was up 8.7 per cent to 1.44 million TEU and Xiamen's increased 13.8 per cent to 5.83 million TEU.

 

The province's overall cargo volume increased 10.5 per cent year on year to 334 million tonnes. Fuzhou lifted 92.93 million tonnes, up 12.9 per cent and Xiamen moved 141 million tonnes with 11.8 per cent growth.
