The year 2012 represents the 40th anniversary of the establishment of formal diplomatic relations between China and the Netherlands. As a tribute to this 40th anniversary and part of the Dutch Week events in China to observe the National Day of the Netherlands, Sino-Dutch Intelligent Logistics Seminar opens at Holland House April 23. Shanghai International Shipping Institute contributed to the Seminar as coorganizer, partnering with the Consulate General of the Netherlands.
Both China and the Netherlands play an important role within international trade flows and containerized transportation. The Sino-Dutch Intelligent Logistics seminar focuses on new ICT/IOT systems and solutions to make containerized logistics and trade more secure, transparent and efficient.
Professor Zhen Hong, Secretary General SISI, gave an opening speech at the meeting, whereas his counterpart is Mr. Peter Potman, Consul General of the Netherlands in Shanghai.
After the opening ceremony, speakers, panelists and audience exchanged information and views concerning latest developments in ICT/IOT solutions and standards for information platforms for the logistics sector in the two countries. They also shared challenges, solutions and valuable information throughout the industrial chain, including hardware providers, system integrators and end-users in the logistics field. In particular, guests present probed into the possible collaboration between China and the Netherlands in achieving safe and secure trade flows.
The seminar is concluded by a panelist discussion and cocktail networking where all the guests felt free to share their observations of the topics covered. The audience all look forward to another brainstorm in the field of shipping and logistics.
