Sep.4--HEBEI province's Baigou County, with its Baoding city, plans to cooperate with Tianjin port and develop a "dry port" to offer intermodal service for transshipment via Tianjin, Xinhua reports.

Baigou is building a bonded logistics park covering an area of 3.95 square kilometres. The first phase of the facility, containing a warehousing and distribution facilities, entails an investment of CNY500 million (US$78.73 million), and has started operation in June with an annual capacity of 12 million tonnes. The CNY1.5 billion second phase offers bonded logistics and container intermodal services.

Baigou is situated at the core of the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Economic Circle with easy access transportation means liking Beijing, Tianjin and Shajiazhuang. Baoding-Tianjin expressway, No 112 state highway and the intercity railway from Beijing airport to Baoding-Tianjin railway all run through Baigou.

According to Baigou government, the county now has 132 freight stations with a network of 204 routes, offering more than 500 truck trips, capable of handling over 30,000 tonnes of cargo a day.
