Jul.2--THE Hong Kong Shipowners Association has started offering a Directory of Hong Kong Maritime Services, which is accessible via the weblink www.maritimedirectory.hk.

The new maritime directory is free to list and to use by both members and non-members of the association. Companies resident in Hong Kong that wish to be added to the list are required to complete a registration form, which is then vetted before being uploaded to the website.

Through the use of a password, entries on the website may be directly amended by the company at any time when details change. In addition, those with listings on the website will be automatically asked to check their details once a year, to ensure that only the most up to date information is shown. Searching for companies or services can be made by the company name, by the category of service, or by the use of keywords.

"Hong Kong remains a vibrant and growing maritime community," the managing director of the Association, Arthur Bowring, said, "and we believe that the new website directory will be of use to those in Hong Kong that wish to check contact details, and those outside Hong Kong who would like to find detailed information of specific services provided."
