World Courier opened its third office in Guangzhou
Date:2011-01-14 Readers:

In anticipation of a dynamic new phase of economic growth in southern China, Stamford-based World Courier has opened its third wholly foreign-owned office in Guangzhou (China), a key industrial hub distinguished by unprecedented growth over the past three decades and by its close geographic proximity to Hong Kong.
“Successful companies realize that China is not one market, but a series of regional markets,” says Allen Yan, General Manager for World Courier (Shanghai) Co. Ltd. “While a closer Guangzhou-Hong Kong service circle is being shaped to boost global competitiveness in this part of China, many challenges remain.
“Growth in pharmaceutical/R&D investment, the automotive industry and high-tech manufacturing in this region has led to heightened demand for temperature-controlled and time-critical transport and logistics services,” says Mr. Yan. “With the opening of the Guangzhou office, World Courier reinforces its long-term commitment to China while providing the expertise and logistical infrastructure needed to help drive these industries forward. As a global leader in delivering customized solutions, temperature-controlled and value-added services to growth industries, World Courier can provide much-needed regulatory insight, experience, on-the-ground support and on-time delivery when and where it is most advantageous.”
The powerhouse of China’s economic reform, Guangzhou has maintained an average annual rate of growth of almost 13.5% over the past three decades, well above the national average.
World Courier has operated in China since 2000. It maintains wholly foreign-owned offices in Beijing, Shanghai and now Guangzhou, a GMP-compliant investigational drug storage facility in Beijing as well as an extensive GxP-compliant network that extends to over 50 domestic locations.
