Kuehne + Nagel to manage Metso's 2nd China DC in Shanghai
Date:2011-04-28 Readers:

METSO Minerals (Tianjin) International Trade, a global supplier of technology and services for the construction and mining industries based in Finland, has awarded Kuehne + Nagel a contract for the planning, implementation and management of a new distribution centre in Shanghai.

Metso decided to open an additional distribution centre in Shanghai after Tianjin, to "further streamline its domestic distribution processes in China."

The logistics provider said in a statement it has established a dedicated 7,000 square metre facility with a monthly inbound handling capacity of 1,600 tons for Metso in Shanghai's Baoshan district, from where it will provide warehousing and value-added services such as batch management, picking and packing as well as container loading for sea freight exports.

According to Li Jing Yuan, DC manager of Metso Minerals (Tianjin), his company awarded the contract to the logistics firm to manage the new distribution centre in Shanghai, "due to our successful cooperation in Tianjin."
