THE Port of Tianjin's container throughput is expected to top 18 million TEU and overall cargo tonnage figures of 560 million tonnes by 2015, according to the latest plan issued by the Tianjin government.

    In addition by 2015, Tianjin's air cargo throughput will hit 500,000 tonnes, while the city's logistics industry added value will exceed CNY190 billion and be growing at an annual rate of more than 20 per cent, cited a report from reported Xinhua.

    By 2015, Tianjin plan to launch a number of logistics projects to attract renowned airlines, ocean carriers and logistics operators to set up their branches in Tianjin, and develop itself into an international logistics and shipping centre in north China.
