Saudi ports up 2010 volume 19.9pc to 5.3 million TEU

Saudi Arabian ports posted 2010 container gains of 19.9 per cent to 5.3 million TEU, up from 4.4 million TEU in 2009, according to Saudi Ports Authority statistics.
Most box traffic goes through Jeddah on the Suez Canal side, where volume rose 23.9 per cent to 3.8 million TEU in 2010, with Dammam, on the Persian Gulf side, growing 8.6 per cent to 1.4 million TEU.
