China ports 11-month traffic rises 13 percent to 8.32 billion tons

    Trade flows passing through the ports of China in January to November 2011 grew by 13% compared with the same period of 2010, to nearly $ 8.32 billion tons, the Ministry of Transport of China said.

    The volume of cargo handling in seaports of the country for the period increased by 13% year-on-year, to 5.64 billion tons, in the river - by 13.1% to 2.67 billion tons. Container traffic was up 12 % to 149 million TEUs, with a 11.3-percent gain in seaport’s container throughput to 133.4 million TEUs.
