On December 31, 2009, accompanied by Zhou Bin from Alumni Relations Office, Liu Shaojia, SMU's alumnus, Lifetime Professor of Brunel University, Professor of Leiden University in Netherlands and Distinguished Professor of Fudan University, visited SISI and received warm welcome from SISI's Secretary-General Zhen Hong. Through talk, they exchanged opinions on the construction and development of SISI.
Prof. Liu Shaojia obtained his PhD in Economics at Oxford University in 1997, with a specialization in Theory of the Firm of the Industrial organization Economics, Industrial Development and Structural Adjustment, Competitiveness of Enterprises, the System of Property Rights and Corporate Governance Structures. Presently he is a Lifetime Professor of Brunel University, Professor of Leiden University in Netherlands and Distinguished Professor of Fudan University. He is also an adjunct lecturer of Oxford University, lecturing enterprise development and Chinese economy for EMBA training programs of various countries. He was an adjunct professor of the School of Business Administration of Sichuan University between 2003 and 2008. Prof. Liu has been conducting a continuous and in-depth study on China's state-owned enterprise reform, with many research results published in important international journals. He has also published many research papers in national-level core academic journals such as the Management World and Economic Research Journal. He is also a regular commentator on China's economic issues for such international media as BBC, Voice of Asia, Radio France International and Financial Times.
