Chongqing Cuntan Bonded  Port Area gets customs okay

CHONGQUING, a port on the upper reaches of the Yangtze, has completed its Cuntan Bonded Port Area Phase 1 project, having passed inspection by Chongqing customs, Logistics Week reported.

The Cuntan Bonded Port Area received approval for its establishment from the China State Council in 2008. With construction started in June 2009, phase 1 of the project at full build-out will cover 2.67 square kilometres, with 1.77 square kilometres for water cargo operations and 0.9 square kilometres for air cargo. So far, CNY3.3 billion (US$483.4 million) has been spent on the facility.
