Caterpillar Inc is reviewing options for its third-party logistics business, including a possible sale, reported Dow Jones Newswires.

    The business has more than 50 customers worldwide and is part of the company's Caterpillar Logistics Services Inc. The company said manufacturing logistics, transportation operations and brand-parts distribution – which are also part of Cat Logistics –aren't part of this strategic review.

    The heavy-machinery maker is also considering making third-party logistics an independent business within Cat Logistics, citing an increased focus on growth opportunities in its core businesses.
