China logistics value up 18.5pc last year to US$1.33 trillion in 2011

  OFFICIAL government figures reveal that China's "social logistics", that is, the total of all logistics operations in the country, rose 18.5 per cent in turnover to total CNY8.4 trillion (US$1.33 trillion) in 2011, Xinhua reports.
  Last year, social logistics turnover accounted for 17.8 per cent of China's GDP, remaining at the same level as in 2010, indicating that the country's logistics turnover
is still high.
  The value of all logistics operations last year totalled CNY158.4 trillion, up 12.3 per cent after removing price change factor.
  Logistics of industrial products valued CNY143.6 trillion, up 13.1 per cent, taking up 90.2 per cent of the total value of all logistics operations. Imported cargo
logistics value increased 4.3 per cent to CNY11.2 trillion.
The value-added logistics industry turnover increased 13.9 per cent to CNY3.2 trillion, taking up 6.8 per cent of the GDP and occupying 15.7 per cent of the added
value of the service industry.
