On May 11, a promotion ceremony for Dalian’s new urban district was held at the Shangri-La Hotel in Futian District, Shenzhen.

During the ceremony, many well-known companies signed 37 investment cooperation agreements with Dalian, such as Gemdale Co, Great Eagle Holdings Ltd, Excellence Group, involving modern services, industries, real estate and construction of infrastructure.

Xia Deren, on behalf of the Municipal Committee and Municipal Government, gave a speech at the ceremony. He extended a warm welcome and thanks to those entrepreneurs from China and abroad. He said that Dalian had entered a new stage of development. The regional management system reform started the construction of Dalian’s new urban district, broadened the space for development and provided more opportunities for investment in Dalian. The new urban district boasts a location advantage, industry advantage, policy advantage and environment advantage. It will become a new growing hub in Dalian. People will try their best to create a favorable development environment and provide efficient and premium service to build a brighter future for Dalian.

Li Wancai introduced the developing potential of the new urban district and promoted several prior investment sites. He said 2010 was very important for Dalian’s development. Dalian will actively build itself into northeast Asia’s international shipping center, logistics center and regional financial center, increasing the power to drive the regional development and stride forward to build an important international city in northeast Asia.
