OOCL has launched Mobile Vessel Tracking that enables customers to search and track any OOCL vessel from a mobile device.

Vessel arrival and departure dates and times are displayed on the mobile screen. Customers need only to type in the vessel code or name to search for a vessel. Optional fields include the voyage number and port.

The new service can be accessed by all major mobile systems and smart phones, including Windows Mobile, Blackberry, Symbian, iPhone and Android. Customers may also access the service directly from http://m.oocl.com .

The solution is the latest feature of the online interactive My OOCL Centre platform, which was launched in March 2009 and aims to lower business costs and save time. OOCL will continue to upgrade and add new features to the platform throughout the year, a company statement said.
