Logistics operator names chief commercial officer with contract logistics background.
A.P. Moller-Maersk logistics subsidiary Damco hired Wade Thompson as its new chief commercial officer for the Middle East region, the company announced Monday.
Wade joins Damco from CEVA Logistics, where he had nine years of logistics experience in the Middle East, most recently as director of contract logistics and sales.
Wade, an Australian national, brings with him 15 years experience in freight, logistics, and supply chain management including knowledge and expertise in business development, logistics operations and supply chain planning.
Damco, the combined brand of the A.P. Moller-Maersk Group's logistics activities, provides a broad range of supply chain management and freight forwarding services all over the world, with 10,500 employees in over 280 owned offices across 90 countries.
In 2009, the company had revenue of more than $2 billion, managed more than 2.3 million TEUs of ocean freight and supply chain management volume and air freighted more than 60,000 tons.
