Metso extends K+N China partnership
Date:2011-04-22 Readers:

Metso Minerals (Tianjin) International Trade Co, a global supplier of technology and services for the construction and mining industries, has awarded Kuehne + Nagel a contract for the planning, implementation and management of a new distribution centre in Shanghai.

With this new contract the two companies extend their five-year partnership, Kuehne + Nagel said in a statement.

Since 2006, the Swiss logistics company has been providing international forwarding services for the Finnish mining and construction expert, and in 2008, the logistics provider took over the management of Metso Minerals’ Tianjin spare parts distribution centre.

To further streamline its domestic distribution processes in China, Metso decided to open an additional distribution centre in Shanghai.

Based on the successful operation in Tianjin, Kuehne + Nagel has established a dedicated 7,000 sqm facility with a monthly inbound handling capacity of more than 1,600 tonnes for Metso in Shanghai’s Baoshan district.

At the new site Kuehne + Nagel is providing a wide range of services, including warehousing, value-added services like batch management or picking and packing as well as container loading for sea freight exports.
