Hong Kong's Dragonair plans to resume service to Fukuoka in Japan from its Hong Kong base.

The carrier plans to commence daily Fukuoka service on October 31, operated by an Airbus A320 aircraft.

"Dragonair will be the only airline operating direct non-stop service between Hong Kong and Fukuoka," said Dragonair chief executive officer James Tong in a statement.

"The resumption of Fukuoka service helps strengthen Dragonair's presence in the region and represents an important step forwards for Dragonair as we celebrate our 25th anniversary."

Flight KA386 will depart at 09:05 hrs from Hong Kong and arrive in Fukuoka at 13:20 hrs. Return flight KA387 will depart Fukuoka at 14:25 hrs and return to Hong Kong airport at 17:35 hrs.

Dragonair said it will also raise the frequency of its service between Hong Kong and Kathmandu from September 1, moving from three to six flights per week (all days except Friday). The service, operated by an A330-300, goes via Dhaka, Bangladesh, in the direction of Kathmandu from Hong Kong.
