Cargoitalia increases flights to Shanghai, Hong Kong
Date:2011-03-18 Readers:

CARGOITALIA, an Italian air cargo carrier, has announced it will increase flights to Shanghai and Hong Kong later this month to cater for increasing summer demand.

The airline will run four times weekly to Hong Kong, including Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday. The Tuesday and the new Friday flights will fly via Sharjah, while the Thursday and Saturday services will use its existing route via Dubai.

It will also add flights to Shanghai to three times a week, launching a new Friday flight in addition to its current Wednesday and Sunday services. All services will have a "tech-stop" in Krasnoyarsk, Siberia of Russia in both voyages.

It will continue to run a twice-weekly service to New York's JFK airport on Wednesday and Sunday with an earlier departure time compared to the previous Monday service. Besides, it will continue to operate a twice-weekly flight to Atlanta via New York, arriving Monday and Thursday, as well as twice-weekly service to Chicago on Thursday and Saturday.

"Together with a dramatic increase in charter work, we are now obtaining much higher utilisation for each of our three MD-11 freighters," said Cargoitalia commercial director Roberto Gilardoni.

"This will further strengthen our commercial position in 2011, and lay the foundations for future expansion."
