RAILWAY cargo volume of Shanxi province reached 5.03 million tonnes, increased 18.73 per cent year on year to 7.94 million tonnes, reported Xinhua.

The largest delivered item was coal, 33.73 million tonnes, accounting for 67.04 per cent of the total cargo volume.

Other major delivered items include petroleum, 5.60 million tonnes, showing a year-on-year rise of 23.02 per cent. However, the cargo volume of foodstuffs fell 66.94 per cent to 0.49 million tonnes.
