On April 17, 2010, the “2010 ICS International Shipping Seminar in Shanghai”, co-organized by Shanghai International Shipping Institute (SISI), was successfully convened in the Seagull on the Bund. Mr. Tsu-Kuang Chin, China Regional Director of the Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers delivered an opening speech. Director-General Zhu Jianhua of Shanghai Municipal Transport and Port Authority delivered a wonderful speech entitled “Speeding up the construction of Shanghai International Shipping Center and promoting the development of the shipping service system”. Ying Mingyong, Member of the Standing Committee of Hongkou District and Deputy District Mayor, participated in the seminar and delivered a speech. Experts from at home and abroad attended the seminar to jointly discuss on “Risk Prevention Measures for the Shipping Market and Shipbrokers’ Professionalism in the Post-financial Crisis Era” and a series of other issues.

SISI Secretary-General Zhen Hong and Office Director Zhang Jieshu attended the seminar. Mr. Zhen Hong made a wonderful speech of “The Status Quo of Shipping Professionals in Shanghai”, calling on the participants to focus on the training of highly qualified shipping professionals to promote the construction of Shanghai International Shipping Center.
