On December 2, Shanghai International Shipping Institute (SISI) successfully held the “Expert Seminar on Shipping Market”, inviting renowned domestic shipping experts for in-depth exchanges on shipping market development this year and future trend, as well as discussions on certain issues.

Experts attending the Seminar included Deputy Director Zhu Changyu of Research Office of China Shipping (Group) Company, Researcher Ying Ling of Strategy Department of COSCO Container Lines Co., Ltd., Deputy Manager Dong Lvmin of Strategic R&D Department of China Shipping Container Lines Co., Ltd., Manager Gu Yunfeng of Information Department of Shanghai Shipping Exchange, General Manager Ji Wenyuan of Seamaster Chartering Limited, and General Manager Liu Bangjun of Shanghai JoinOcean Shipbroker Ltd.

The Seminar was presided over by Professor and Deputy Secretary-General Zhang Jieshu of SISI. Shipping market experts expressed their views and comments on various markets, involving international container, dry bulk and tanker markets as well as domestic coastal bulk shipping market. Holding a generally bearish attitude towards global economy and shipping market of the following year, the experts anticipated a rising pressure for shipping enterprises next year.
