Gansu's Jinchuan airport opens in August, one of several in province

     JINCHUAN airport in northwest China outer province of Gansu has completed a three-day test and is scheduled to commence operations in August, Xinhua reports.

     Being a feeder airport, Jinchuan airport near Jinchang city cost CNY343 million (US$53 million) to build. It has a 3,000-metre runway, a 3,960-square-metre terminal, four aircraft parking stands and is able to handled 1,200 tonnes of cargo and 200,000 passengers a year.

 

    Wan Fanji, vice director of Gansu provincial transport department said the Zhangye military and civil airport construction will be exhilarated as well as the building of Xiahe, Longnan and Pingliang airport and the expansion of Zhongchuan, Qingyang, Dunhuang and Tianshui Airport. By the end of 2015, there will be 10 provincial airports.
