On August 10, 2010, leaders of Shanghai Urban Construction and Communications Commission visited Shanghai International Shipping Institute (SISI). Deputy Director Shen Xiaosu of the Commission put forward valuable suggestions on plans of the next-phase construction of Shanghai International Shipping Center and the orientation of the future development of SISI. Yu Shicheng, Secretary and Vice President of Shanghai Maritime University attended the meeting, placing high hopes on the development of SISI and setting new requirements for relevant staff.
The meeting consisted of two parts. At first, SISI Secretary-General Professor Zhen Hong reported on the progress and pitfalls of SISI. Leaders of Shanghai Urban Construction and Communications Commission and Shanghai Maritime University gave full recognition to the astonishing achievements SISI has made within so short a time. They also put forward practical ideas on the current problems of SISI’s development and expressed willingness to support SISI. Then, Mr. Zhen Hong reported the development plan of Shanghai International Shipping Center during the 12th Five-Year period as well as the progress of legislative subject research. Leaders of the Commission and the University exchanged extensively on the subjects and proposed specific suggestions for the planning.
