Chaired by Ma Shuo, Director of the Expert Committee and Vice President of World Maritime University, the First Expert Committee Meeting of SISI was held at the central conference hall on December 22. Participants included all experts and scholars of the committee.
At the beginning of the meeting, SISI's Secretary-General Prof. Zhen Hong read out the name list of the Expert Committee. Ma Shuo, Vice President of World Maritime University, was appointed as Director of the Committee; Huang Youfang, Vice President of Shanghai Maritime University, as Executive Deputy Director; and Wang Mingzhi from Shanghai Combination Port Commission, Gu Xingquan from the Development Research Center of Shanghai Municipal People's Government, Zhu Jianhua from Shanghai Municipal Transport and Port Authority, Sun Jiakang from COSCON, Ye Weilong from COSCO Logistics and Zhang Ye from Shanghai Shipping Exchange as deputy directors.
Then, Huang Youfang, Executive Deputy Director of the Committee and Vice President of Shanghai Maritime University, made a congratulatory speech for the meeting and issued the letters of appointment to each expert. In retrospect of the operation over the previous year, Prof. Zhen Hong reported SISI’s construction in 2009 to the Committee. The experts also shared their visions on the future development of SISI and offered constructive advices.
At last, President Yu Shicheng of Shanghai Maritime University expressed his opinions and suggested SISI to develop in depth while focusing on the No. 19 Document issued by the State Council.
