PoR Harbor Master Division Learns More about Shanghai Port at SISI

On July 20, 2012, Mr. Rene de Vries, Director of Harbor Master Port of Rotterdam came with his colleagues to visit Shanghai International Shipping Institute (SISI). 

Prof. Li Gang, Deputy Secretary General SISI, sent warm greetings on behalf of SISI to the Rotterdam guests, and gave a brief introduction of SISI. Mr. Vries appreciated Prof. Li’s kindness and introduced in return Harbor Master Division of the Port of Rotterdam. In particular, Mr. Vries mentioned that the Port of Rotterdam has long enjoyed friendship and exchanges with SISI, and that in the current mission his delegation is very much interested to learn about the practice and progress of Shanghai port with a view to building up future exchanges.
 
To initiate discussion, Mr. Jan Gardeitchik Director of Harbor Master Policy introduced Vessel Traffic Vision 2015, which centers on reliable vessel planning information sharing among all players in the nautical chain. Mr. Zhang Yongfeng, Deputy Director of Shipping Market Analysis Department SISI briefed about the status quo of Shanghai port and its upcoming priorities in realizing its development objectives.
 
Also present in the discussion include Mr. Jacob Bac, Project Manager (Optimizing the nautical chain), Mr. Herman Hanekamp, Programme Manager Harbormaster Information Services, and Ms. Rachel Zhou from Rotterdam Commercial Representative Office.
