Kerry Logistics has acquired a majority shareholding in ADCO Shipping and Forwarding, a privately held company, headquartered in Rotterdam, The Netherlands.
ADCO was founded in 1983 and is a leader in ocean freight forwarding in Holland. The addition of the company strengthens Kerry Logistics’ platform in northern Europe and complements its existing network of offices across the continent.
The ADCO management team brings a wealth of experience to Kerry Logistics’ forwarding business in Europe. ADCO also operates warehousing and distribution services from its warehouse in Rotterdam in addition to inbound de-consolidation and outbound container loading. This will support Kerry Logistics’ aim to provide a range of supply chain solutions throughout northern Europe both inbound and outbound.
“The addition of ADCO to our growing network in Europe will also increase our negotiating power with the sea freight carriers to and from northern Europe. We will also be able to expand the range of logistics services we offer to customers across Holland, Belgium and Germany,” said Gary Wilcock, managing director, Europe, Kerry Logistics.
