Invited by Federal Maritime Commission (FMC), Mr. Li Hongyin, Deputy Director-General, Bureau of Water Transport, Ministry of Transport headed up the Chinese delegation and attended Global Regulatory Summit. Maritime regulators from the United States, the People’s Republic of China (PRC), and the European Commission met and conferred in Washington, D.C. to have open and candid discussions on their differing regulatory frameworks and the potential effects of carrier cooperation on international trade.

Mr. Zhang Yongfeng, Deputy Director of International Shipping Research Department of SISI, attended the Summit and provided important reference material based on SISI’s research. During the Summit, FMC Commissioner Richard A. Lidinsky, Jr. praised highly of SISI’s efforts to strengthen the dialogue between Chinese and US governments.
