February 25 2013 witnessed the inauguration of BIMCO Shanghai Centre in conjunction with Senior Leadership Forum. The president of BIMCO, Mr. Yudhishthir Khatau, accompanied by members of the BIMCO Executive Committee, was present at the event.

The forum aims at providing a platform for positive exchanges on China’s role in international shipping and what role BIMCO might play as perceived by the maritime community in furthering the well-being of China’s shipping industry. The inauguration of BIMCO Shanghai Centre, on the other hand, has been applauded by guests present on the occasion as a step forward right into one of today’s world maritime centers.

Prof. Yu Shicheng, Party Secretary of Shanghai Maritime University and Director of Shanghai International Shipping Institute, in the company of other SISI’s delegates, delivered a speech on Cooperation with BIMCO in the Future upon invitation of the event organizer.
