At the end of this year BIMCO project will firstly enter and station in Pudong. In addition, Pudong Shipping Office is preparing for constructing Smart Port and Shipping Engineer Research Centre. “These high-end service projects will integrate shipping services acting as a central nervous system. These services will also focus on high-end and high-value products on international shipping value chain. The advantages of shipping functions and industrial development will be continuously strengthened,” Lin Weijun, Director of Pudong Shipping Office introduced.

Currently, there is a huge research gap on shipping statistic indicator system in China. After established, Engineering Research Centre will firstly statistically analyze port and shipping industries based on port and shipping resources in Shanghai and Yangtze River Delta region. The generic technologies on developing smart port and shipping will be investigated. Key technology result engineering and system integration with key market values will be developed.
