US global express delivery company United Parcel Service (UPS) has doubled its capacity on its 19 weekly flights from Miami to Latin America by replacing its Boeing 757 narrow-bodied with wide-bodied Boeing 767 in response to export growth of Colombia and Ecuador flowers, farmed fish and Guatemala fruit and vegetables.
Atlanta-based UPS has increased capacity on flights from Miami to Quito, Ecuador; Guayaquil, Ecuador; Bogota, Colombia; Panama City, Panama; Guatemala City and Managua, Nicaragua.
"UPS has been one of the largest cargo carriers in the Americas for more than a decade so when our customers asked for more capacity, [we] responded with this larger aircraft," said UPS Americas regional president Romaine Seguin.
