DHL Global Forwarding, the air and ocean freight subsidiary of DHL, has appointed Samar Nath as its new chief executive officer and country manager for India.
“At the epicenter of the rapidly growing Asia-Pacific region, India is of strategic importance to DHL’s global forwarding operations,” said Kelvin Leung, CEO of DHL Global Forwarding’s Asia-Pacific region, in a statement. “Samar's appointment will help drive us towards our goal of continuously outgrowing the market and setting new standards of excellence for our customers.”
Nath has more than 15 years of experience in the Indian logistics industry, including serving as executive vice president and managing director for India and South Asia at CEVA Logistics; and as managing director for India and South Asia at APL Logistics.
DHL has launched a series of less-than-containerload direct services from Nhava Sheva, India’s largest container port, to major global destinations, including Los Angeles, Shanghai, Dubai, Durban and Gothenburg, over the past three years, as part of its stragtegy to expand operations in emerging markets. |
