Date:2014-07-02 Readers:

On June 19-25, 2014, Li Gang, Deputy Secretary General of SISI, led a delegation to visit leading shipping enterprises, industrial associations and international organizations in Europe, and held in-depth exchanges with them about relevant issues. The delegation visited COSCO London Branch, International Tanker Owner Pollution Federation (ITOPF), London Maritime Arbitrators Association (LMAA), Baltic Exchange, World Maritime University (WMU), headquarters of the Maersk Group in Denmark, and Baltic and International Maritime Council (BIMCO). During the visit, SISI fully introduced its development history, concept and main businesses and functions, and promoted its core products including a series of market analysis reports, shipping prosperity reports, magazines and periodicals. The English magazine China Shipping & Ports was widely praised.

Leaders of relevant companies and institutions warmly received the SISI delegation and introduced their successful experience in different fields. They held extensive and in-depth discussions with the SISI delegation on a range of topics, including the current situation of world economic and trade development, the future trend of international shipping market, how China can take a better part in formulating international shipping rules, the development of Shanghai international shipping center and the pilot FTZ, and how the government can improve its service and supervision. The achievements made during the visit will provide better guidance on the research by SISI personnel and make SISI’s consultation and decisions more scientific and reasonable.
