In June 1-15, 2014, Jin Jiachen and Zhou Dequan, respectively deputy head of SISI Shipping Center Construction Research Department and Domestic Shipping Research Department, were invited by the Ministry of Transport to participate in the port & shipping business workshop held by Antwerp/Flanders Port Training Center (APEC) in Antwerp, Belgium. Participants in the workshop came from over ten countries including China, Poland, Indonesia, Vietnam and Brazil.

During the two-week business training, APEC invited several port & shipping experts from Belgium and Holland to give lectures on a wide range of topics, including container port planning, worker training and management, machinery, software application, coastal infrastructure construction and investment, cargo import & export, marketing, customs policies, laws and rules regarding hazardous goods, and the effects of multimodal transportation at container terminals. The workshop also organized several field visits to container terminals to provide the participants with plenty of learning and exchange opportunities.
