SISI-KMI International Maritime Forum 2014 was held at Ocean Hotel on December 4, 2014. Co-hosted by Shanghai International Shipping Institute (SISI) and Korean Maritime Institute (KMI), it is already the sixth of its kind, representing the cooperative ties between the two institutions.
At the opening ceremony, Kim Sung-gwi, President of Korean Maritime Institute, gave an opening remark, and Yu Shicheng, Chairman of Shanghai Maritime UniversityCouncil, delivered welcome speech.
SISI and KMI also signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) to renew their collaborative relations and hope to increase cooperation in the future.
With keynote speeches and a dedicated discussion session, the Forum highlighted prospect of green shipping, new opportunities for cruise industry development, shipping alliance and solutions, prospect on world container liner shipping market and dry bulk shipping market. Shipping industrial experts from China and Korea shared their insights with the audience and gave suggestions on how to cope with the sluggish shipping market.
