SISI-KMI International
Maritime Forum 2015 was held at Hyatt on the Bund Hotel on November 26, 2015.
Co-hosted by Shanghai International Shipping Institute (SISI) and Korean
Maritime Institute (KMI), it is already the seventh of its kind, a good example
of in-depth cooperation between two sides.
At the opening
ceremony, Kim Sung Gwi, President of Korean Maritime Institute, gave an opening
remark, and Yu Shicheng, Former Chairman of Shanghai Maritime University Council
and Director of SISI, delivered welcome speech.
With keynote
speeches and a dedicated discussion session, the Forum highlighted review and prospect
of global dry bulk shipping market and container liner shipping market, Tendency
of Asian cruise industry and cooperation scheme between China and South Korea, Strategies
for Chinese and Korean ports against the backdrop of Belt and Road Initiative
and AIIB, Status quo and outlook of China’s policies on ship and port
pollution control. Shipping industrial experts from China and Korea shared
their insights with the audience and gave suggestions on how to cope with challenges
facing the industry.
