On November 30, Ida
Skard, Director General of Maritime Department, Norwegian Ministry of Trade, Industry
and Fisheries, Rouzbeh Rasai, Adviser at Norwegian Ministry of Trade, Industry
and Fisheries, Øyvind Stokke, Consul General, Lili, PA to Consul General &
Project Advisor and Lucy Wang, Consular Affairs Advisor came to SISI. It’s the
second time for Ida Skard to call at SISI after four years.
After a brief
welcome, Prof. Zhen Hong, Secretary-General of SISI elaborated on the green
shipping part in the 13th five year plan of Shanghai’s construction
into an international shipping center. Prof. Zhang Jieshu, Deputy
Secretary-General of SISI talked about China’s shipping companies’ and shipbuilders’
efforts in green shipping. Zhao Nan, Director of Port Research Department and
Assistant of Secretary-General introduced latest developments in Shanghai’s
shipping policy and law. While the Norwegian side explained a new maritime
strategy launched by state government called "Maritime Opportunities –
Blue Growth for a Green Future". SISI indicated that Port of Shanghai could
learn from Norway’s advanced experience and practice in developing environmental-friendly
shipping and port.
