M+R Spedag Group celebrates 25 years in Asia
Date:2010-11-19 Readers:

M+R Spedag Group, an independent Swiss logistics company, has announced that it is celebrating its entry into Asia a quarter century ago.

The company is holding a series of events throughout Asia to celebrate the anniversary. This includes official receptions in Shanghai and Hong Kong to be attended by clients, business partners and selected guests from overseas.

"We are proud of what we have achieved," says Daniel Richner, son of the founder and present-day proprietor. "When setting up our first offices in Asia 25 years ago, we followed our credo to always be close to the cargo. Over the course of a quarter of a century we have exceeded all our expectations and have grown into a multinational organisation."

The success of M+R in Asia reflects the economic development the entire region has gone through over the past 25 years. With its strong presence in China as well as in India, Asia's economic powerhouses of the 21st century, M+R is well positioned to grow from strength to strength. The slogan "Logistics connecting continents " truly covers the role the group plays in connecting the world with Asia.

Founded in 1952 in Basel, Switzerland, M+R Spedag Group first expanded to Asia in 1985, with offices in Singapore, Hong Kong and Taiwan. Trading under the name "M+R Forwarding" the group extended its network coverage, opening up offices in China, Thailand, Indonesia and India. Today, M+R operates in Asia with 35 offices and over 1,000 staff.
