Shanghai authorities held a match-making event, in Beijing, on April 12, to encourage more central enterprises to move to the China (Shanghai) Pilot Free Trade Zone in the city's Pudong New District, Pudong Times has reported,
There were 17 enterprises – including the China Publishing (Group) Corp, China Hualu (Group) Co, CETC International Co, China National Salt Industry Corp, Power Construction Corp of China, and the China Certification and Inspection Group – taking part.
The deputy director of the free trade zone, Cao Hongying, told the gathering that they have seen some advances in investment management, trade supervision, financial innovation and government management that have helped to create a better environment, and that they will come up with more preferential policies to give its companies development opportunities.
Also taking part were officials of the zone's different areas who explained their respective strengths and resources. The officials said that they consider cooperation with the enterprises to be a winning situation for everyone. After that, the enterprises described their development planning and their ideas on cooperating with the zone.
So far, the zone has already gotten some central enterprises, for example, the China National Light Industrial Products Import and Export Corp, the first to do so, and the China COSCO Shipping Corp, a merger of the China Ocean Shipping Group and China Shipping Group.
