SISI and the Shanghai Maritime University Alumni Association of Singapore signed a memorandum of cooperation in Singapore on April 16, 2016. The two sides will promote cooperation in the establishment of the SISI sub-center in Singapore.

At the signing ceremony, Prof. Yu Shicheng, director of SISI said that the establishment of the SISI sub-centers in Singapore is to build a cooperative research and exchange platform between two cities, to learn from Singapore's experiences and successful practices in promoting development of international shipping industry, and to promote the construction of Shanghai international shipping center. At the same time, it is also to introduce to Singapore the current situation and development trends of China International shipping market as well as related industries, and to promote closer communication and interaction between the shipping industry in both countries.

Prof. Zhen Hong, Secretary-General of SISI and Mr.Yan Xiankai, President of Shanghai Maritime University Alumni Association of Singapore and Managing Director of Bilsea International Holdings Pte Ltd signed the memorandum of cooperation.

Mr. Yan  xiankai served as director of the sub-center . Prof .Zhang jieshu, Deputy Secretary-General of SISI served as deputy director of the sub-center and Mr. Cai Zhiyong,  Managing Director of Bunkerboard Pte Ltd  served as  Secretary-General of the sub-center. Winning International Group Co., Ltd was invited as Consultant Units for the sub-center.

During the visit in Singapore, to help sub-centers running smoothly, Prof. Yu Shicheng led the team visited Singapore Shipowners' Association, National University of Singapore, Bilsea International Holdings Pte Ltd ,Winning International Group Co., Ltd and several other organizations.
